US-India Climate Technologies Action Group

About CTAG

The US-India Climate Technologies Action Group (CTAG) is a joint initiative of the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF). The CTAG aims to integrate private and public sector inputs on concrete initiatives that can contribute to advanced global action on climate, facilitate U.S. industry input on the latest climate-resilient technologies, share US business models with the Indian market to accelerate the development of the clean energy sector, mobilize capital for climate-smart infrastructure projects in India and strengthen the US-India bilateral relationship.

On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, the USTDA and USISPF launched the US-India Climate Technologies Action Group (CTAG), that brought together senior government officials and business leaders from India and the United States who engaged in a high-level dialogue on the “Accelerating the Adoption of Climate Technology in India.”

New Delhi/Washington, DC: On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) launched the US-India Climate Technologies Action Group (CTAG), which aims to bring together major private and public sector stakeholders from both the countries on concrete initiatives that can contribute to advanced global action on climate.

The launch event brought together senior government officials and business leaders from India and the United States who engaged in a high-level dialogue on the “Accelerating the Adoption of Climate Technology in India.”

The Climate Technologies Action Group convened on February 17, 2022 to interact with Mr. Eric Haxthausen, Senior Advisor for Climate, Partnerships and Innovation, US Trade and Development Agency.

The objective of the meeting was to discuss the US-India Climate Partnership and understand USTDA’s priorities for the sector.

As part of the Climate Technologies Action Group (CTAG), this dialogue strengthened the U.S. – India Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 partnership, with inputs from the private sector on climate-related initiatives they are working on or keen to pursue in India.

During the session, we also had industry leaders speak on climate-related initiatives they are working on, or on opportunities/gaps that can be pursued to advance India’s climate action plans and also taken up as activities/pilots under US India Climate Cooperation.

Energy Resilience Workshop Series, delivered by IHS Markit Experts

October to December 2021

The India Energy Resilience workshop series, was a series of ten virtual workshops on energy resiliency in India following the COVID-19 pandemic, jointly convened by the US Trade and Development Agency, IHS Markit, and the USIN Foundation, as part of the Climate Technologies Action Group.

The workshop series focused on the decarbonization of the Indian energy industry by incorporating innovative technologies like as carbon capture, hydrogen, and renewables integration to assist India in meeting its climate goals.

These 10 workshops were organized in a 90-minute format, on select dates from October through December 2021, and was delivered by a team of IHS Markit experts.
