Sara Akbar is a seasoned Government Affairs professional advocating for good public policy in corporate America. She has led the Government Affairs agenda for both large and small organizations. Most recently she was the Head of Government Affairs for Recorded Future, the largest global threat intelligence company.

She previously spent over a decade in Oracle’s Government Affairs office. She covered a range of issues from education, workforce and immigration to international procurement and Oracle’s government affairs efforts throughout Asia. She oversaw Oracle’s philanthropic efforts with local, state and federal government officials Ms. Akbar facilitated several large public private partnerships. She served as Oracle’s representative on several international task forces and business development groups. Before joining Oracle in 2004, she was a contract and business development specialist for information technology firms.

Ms. Akbar is a Washington, D.C. area native. She earned a BA in International Relations from American University and a MA in Public Policy from the University of Maryland.

She currently sits on the board of the Women’s High-Tech Coalition and the Emergent Leaders Network. She was a founding board member of mother tongue and the DC STEM Network.
