Increase the representation of women in leadership levels in the energy, industrial and manufacturing industries across the South Asia Region, enabling diversity in decision making.
Further, it identifies women leaders in the energy and infrastructure space who have shown exemplary leadership and highlight their contributions towards the sector to promote gender inclusiveness policies and motivate aspiring qualified women to opt for careers in Indian and global energy as well as industrial and manufacturing spaces.
SAWIE was formally launched by Edgard D. Kagan, Deputy Chief of U.S. Mission to India during the 2nd International Conference on Large-scale Grid Integration of Renewable Energy in September 2019. Since then, we have successfully engaged in conversations towards furthering our objectives.

Key Objectives of SAWIE : To achieve the key objectives of SAWIE, working group-based model is identified for capacity building of women professionals across various sectors and functional areas. The outcomes delivered by each working group will be shared with the larger SAWIE network, and made freely available to anyone interested in the activities or events of each working group.
