An engaging interaction between Mr. P. Velrasu, CEO of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), and USISPF members in Mumbai.
Members gained insights into the state’s economic priorities and emerging investment landscape.
The discussion in India’s commercial capital centred around Maharashtra’s vision for industrial growth, with a focus on high-potential sectors such as semiconductors, electric mobility, defense and aerospace, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare.
Mr. Velrasu shared the Government of Maharashtra’s strategic roadmap to attract global investments, including the development of industrial corridors, plug-and-play infrastructure, and targeted policy incentives.
Members exchanged ideas on strengthening public-private partnerships (PPPs), improving regulatory clarity, and scaling innovation-led manufacturing in the state.
The dialogue also emphasized Maharashtra’s efforts to streamline the ease of doing business, enhance single-window clearances, and fast-track approvals for high-impact projects.
The meeting marked a valuable step in deepening collaboration between American companies and the state’s leadership to drive sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

The Department of Biotechnology in association with U.S. Embassy India organized a one-day community update and lead up event to the first US India Cancer Moonshot Dialogue at AIIMS NCI Jhajjar Campus.
Dr. Bhuvnesh Shrivastava, Director Healthcare at USISPF co- led the discussion on “Equitable Cancer Therapy and Implementation Science (Access)”. This significant conglomeration is a critical step in progressing the discussion and building meaningful partnerships to identify novel solutions in the fight against cancer.

The R21/Matrix-M™ malaria vaccine, jointly developed through a collaboration between the Jenner Institute at Oxford University and the Serum Institute of India (SII), utilizing Novavax’s saponin-based adjuvant technology, is the second malaria vaccine authorized for use in children in malaria-endemic regions.
According to a statement from the company, a total of 163,800 doses of the malaria vaccine are specifically allocated for the Central African Republic (CAR) region, with 43,200 doses already dispatched from the Serum Institute of India facility. Click here to read more.

The session was moderated by Kaushal Kishore, Partner, BSR & Affiliates. Malachy Nugent, Vice President-FS, represented USISPF in the session. Panelists shared their views on ESG as a value driver; Regulatory environment; Value chain and technology as an enabler; and Financing and investment initiatives.

Vishnu, MD and CEO of Guidance Tamil Nadu , Paul Arun, Senior Vice President, Guidance Tamil Nadu and Christo Laurel, AVP, Guidance Tamil Nadu. Members discussed investment opportunities in the southern Indian state. Tamil Nadu is recognized for its thriving industrial and IT sector and the second-largest state economy is rapidly expanding with GDP over $300 billion.
